The Liverpool Echo reports that Huang is co-chairman of the National Basketball League of China and the National Baseball League of China.

The QSL Youth Development Support fund is the largest sports related charity fund for under-privileged children in China and its aim is to create development opportunities for young people in sport and increase the popularity of sport in China.

Hicks and Gillett officially put the club up for sale in April after appointing British Airways chairman Martin Broughton to oversee any deal
