Wigan trialists Sekou Baradji and Laurent Merlin are desperately hoping they have done enough to win contracts at the DW Stadium this week.[LNB] The French duo, who have been with Latics for five days, are expecting Roberto Martinez to make a decision on their future by the end of the week. [LNB]Baradji, a former West Ham and Reading player, is desperate to earn a place in the squad, despite apparent interest from other clubs. [LNB]"I hope to do well and get a contract here," the midfielder told Sky Sports' website.[LNB]"Being a free agent can also make it simple, but I've not heard anything from the gaffer yet. [LNB]"Hopefully he has seen things that pleased him. I know it is hard to impress but I am doing my best to reach my goal of playing in the Premier League. [LNB]"Even though there is interest from elsewhere, I want to stay here and win a place in the squad. From there I can challenge for a place in the team." [LNB]Fellow midfielder Merlin is also looking to cement a move to the Premier League club, adding: "I have been very impressed here and hope to be part of the Wigan family."
