Team news ahead of Tuesday night's Carling Cup second-round clash between Brighton and Sunderland at the Amex Stadium.[LNB] Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will be without defender Phil Bardsley through suspension for the game against the Seagulls.[LNB]The full-back was sent off for a second bookable offence in Saturday's 1-0 derby defeat by Newcastle and will serve a one-match ban.[LNB]Bruce will make changes as some of his summer signings get the chance to prove their worth with keeper Keiren Westwood a likely starter, but the game will come too soon for defender John O'Shea despite his recovery from a hamstring problem and Craig Gordon, Fraizer Campbell and David Meyler (all knee) are still unavailable.[LNB]Brighton team news to follow.....[LNB]Sunderland (from): Mignolet, Westwood, Brown, Richardson, Turner, Bramble, Ferdinand, Laing, Cattermole, Gardner, Vaughan, Colback, Elmohamady, Gyan, Sessegnon, Wickham, Ji, Cook.
