Shrimpers star eyes Leeds upset
Southend have made a solid start to the new League One season but sit 11 points adrift of Leeds after six games, with United boasting a 100% record.
Their form justifies their standing as the pre-season title favourites, but Francis is looking forward to testing himself against them.
"At the start of the season it was them (Leeds) and Charlton who you thought would be up there and they haven't disappointed," he told the Southend Echo.
"The games with Leeds are always the ones you look for when the fixtures come out and there is a good atmosphere when we play them.
"We're feeling good after beating Leyton Orient last week and we are looking forward to it. They are a strong side and we will have to play well to get anything from the game."
