Denton partnered loanee Sam Hoskins in attack but stole the show with two well taken finishes as Steve Evans, accompanied by chairman Tony Stewart, watched his sides useful workout in a friendly at Parkgate.
Defender Richard Naylor could be in line for a recall this weekend for the trip to Aldershot after coming through the game folllowing a 12 match absence with a knee injury. Michael Raynes is still sidelined and Ryan Cresswell, who partnered Naylor yesterday afternoon, is suspended for that clash.
There was also an appearance for youngster Ollie Banks in the 2-0 win, who is looking to earn a new contract. He alternated the right back and central midfield slot with Mark Bradley.
There was bad news for Scott Griffiths though as he was withdrawn before the break after taking a knock to his knee.
