Coid keeping his options open

15 November 2010 20:27
Danny Coid talks about his debut in the win over Oxford and says he's every chance of staying with the club long term if things work out for him. The full back is in the final year of his contract with Blackpool but says he's unlikely to be offered the option to trigger another season. After his impressive weekend display, he told Millersplayer: "I thought the lads were fantastic. I didn't underestimate them but they were still a lot better than I thought they were going to be. We've got a good set of players here who like to play football, and that suits me and made me feel really comfortable."I'm 29 now and need to get out and play games because I'm fading away at Blackpool. I have an option for another year in the summer but I don't think I will get it, so I need to think about moving on. "The injury I had last year set me back a bit and I need to get my confidence and my fitness back, so playing games is the best way to do that", he added."I haven't just come here for myself, I like Ronnie as a manager and I wanted to come here and play for Rotherham. I'm not the sort of person that can sit on the bench and still get paid, I want to work hard and play football. "I'm just here for a month to start with but if things go well and I settle in here then who knows what could happen."
