Mihkel Aksalu is a goalkeeper who joined Sheffield United in the January 2010 transfer window after spending several weeks on trial with the Blades. Mihkel appeared regularly for United reserves in the second half of the 2009-10 season and has also featured on the first-team bench. In October 2010 he was loaned to Mansfield Town but a stomach problem limited him to three appearances. He returned to Sheffield in December and settled back to life in the reserves. He is a tall ?keeper and provides a big physical presence behind the defence. Mihkel was previously at FC Flora Tallinn and since his arrival has continued to be selected for the Estonia international team.
