Player Details

Jon Stead is an experienced striker who joined Bristol City shortly after the start of the 2010-11 season. Although he failed to score on his debut against his former club Ipswich Town, he went on to finish the campaign as the club?s second-top scorer with nine goals. He impressed the fans with some enthusiastic running, so much so that the loss of the injured Matthew Maynard was not as keenly felt as might otherwise have been the case. Jon was struck down by the injury jinx that blighted City's cause all season, and needed surgery on his ankle, but on returning it did not take long for him to regain his form. Jon began his career as a youngster with Huddersfield and went on to appear in the Premier League for Blackburn and Sunderland before joining Ipswich from Sheffield United. He has represented England at U21 level.
