Anthony Wordsworth is a midfield player who developed in the youth team at Colchester United before signing a professional contract for the club. Anthony, who has appeared both in a wide role and in the centre of midfield, is a cultured player who is a good passer of the ball. He established himself as a regular in the team during 2009-10 with his performances earning him the club's Young Player of the Year award. He started 2010-11 by netting twice in the first 12 minutes of the opening game at Exeter City and continued to feature regularly in the team throughout the season.
