Manchester United star Tobin Heath and Manchester City striker Ellen White are among the five nominees for the Barclays FA Women’s Super League Player of the Month award for November.

They are joined by Chelsea world record signing Pernille Harder, veteran Aston Villa defender Anita Asante and emerging teenage Birmingham goalkeeper Hannah Hampton.

Two-time World Cup winner Heath has made a huge impact on United since joining in a double move alongside USWNT teammate Christen Press, accelerating the club’s journey towards mounting a serious WSL title challenge.

The 32-year-old was a constant threat and source of creativity in United’s landmark win over Arsenal this month and inspired a comeback with a stunning strike in the 2-2 Manchester derby.

White also played in that Manchester derby, the flagship event of the second annual ‘Women’s Football Weekend’. Earlier in November, the England star scored twice in an 8-1 thrashing of Bristol City, becoming only the second WSL player reach 50 goals.

White also contributed two assists in that game, meaning that she had a direct hand in half of her team’s eight goals in the one-sided rout.

Harder scored one of the goals of the season so far as Chelsea kicked off November with a 4-0 win over Everton, who had made a strong start to the campaign.

The Denmark international was also instrumental in preserving Chelsea’s unbeaten record in her last WSL outing when it was her late cross into the penalty area that was deflected into the goal to secure a 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

Asante, a former multiple champion with Arsenal, is helping Aston Villa get to grips with the WSL and was vital at both ends of the pitch when they beat Brighton this month to secure a first ever top flght win. The 35-year-old defender scored a free-kick and was a rock at the back in the 2-0 victory.

Hampton is one of the main reasons why Birmingham have defied expectation to overachieve this season. The 19-year-old has already been getting call-ups to England training camps and kept a clean sheet in the second city derby against Aston Villa.

Fans can vote for who they want to see named Barclays FA Women’s Super League Player of the Month online until 12pm on Friday 27 November.
