Exclusive - Watford are hoping to persuade Euro 2020 star Jens Stryger Larsen to move to the Premier League.

The 30-year-old has impressed this summer with Denmark, helping his country reach a surprise semi-final before being eliminated by England after extra-time at Wembley. He excelled playing at right wing-back during their run through the tournament.

90min understands that Watford are now ready to push through a deal for Larsen - who has made 140 appearances for the club in all competitions after previously playing for Brondby, FC Nordsjælland and Austria Wien - and it's unlikely they will encounter any problems in negotiations with Udinese.

The Serie A side are also owned by the Pozzo family and the two have frequently exchanged players over the past couple of years, most notably Gerard Deulofeu - who departed for Italy after Watford were relegated back to the Championship last year.

Watford are now back in the Premier League after securing promotion back to the top flight at the first time of asking, and are gearing up for their return with a flurry of activity in the transfer market.

Moves for Emmanuel Dennis, Imran Louza, Mattie Pollock, Ashley Fletcher, Kwadwo Baah, Peter Etebo and Josh King have already been finalised, while Watford have also captured the signing of free agent Danny Rose after his release from Tottenham.

The 31-year-old was cast adrift during his final 12 months in north London, and revealed upon his arrival that he was grateful to Watford for giving him the opportunity to continue his career in the Premier League.

“I do feel that I’ve been off the map for a year,” Rose said. “It’s not ideal, but I’m keen, I’m over the moon than I’m here and I was possibly looking to go abroad, but I’ve been given an opportunity to play in the best league again and I intend to take it with both hands.

“[Gino Pozzo] said he wants to be the one who puts me back on the map and I’m grateful and I fully intend to repay him that for as long as I’m here.”

First up for Watford next season is a clash with Aston Villa at Vicarage Road, before Xisco takes his side out on the road for consecutive away days at Brighton and Tottenham.
