Southampton made it two Premier League wins on the spin as they beat West Brom 2-0 at St Mary's on Sunday.
A dominant first half display from the hosts was rewarded with Moussa Djenepo's well-taken goal, with Oriol Romeu turning on the style with a delicious volley in the second half to stave off any notion of a Baggies comeback.
Southampton Player Ratings
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Alex McCarthy (GK) - 6/10 - Had nothing to do, which is very good since he isn't a particularly good goalkeeper.
Kyle Walker-Peters (RB) - 8/10 - Is Walker-Peters.actually decent? Was superb in the first half and probably better overall today than ever before.
Jan Bednarek (CB) - 6/10 - Was caught out on a few occasions early in the second half when Grady Diangana had more joy, but apart from that didn't put a foot wrong.
Jannik Vestergaard (CB) - 7/10 - Being a giant, Vestergaard is not exactly enjoyable to play against in either box. Callum Robinson could do nothing against him.
Ryan Bertrand (LB) - 6/10 - Why doesn't Bertrand get into the England conversation anymore? His performance on Sunday was a fair assessment of his general ability: solid, energetic, but not electric.
Stuart Armstrong (RM) - 6/10 - Great delivery for the second goal but didn't offer too much otherwise.
James Ward-Prowse (CM) - 7/10 - Mr. Whippy was in his usual assured self on Sunday, setting the tone for the Saints' attacks and dictating the tempo of the play.
Oriol Romeu (CM) - 8/10 - Made a few loose passes in the game BUT WHO CARES?!?! A quite remarkable volley for the second goal from someone who just does not score. Lovely strike.
Moussa Djenepo (LM) - 7/10 - Took up central positions throughout the first half and West Brom couldn't deal with him. Showed wonderful skill for the opener that culminated in a tidy finish.
Che Adams (ST) - 6/10 - Everyone who has Adams in their Fantasy Premier League teams must be tearing their hair out with the striker (speaking from experience). Does anyone get as close to scoring as much as him? All he needs is to start finishes his chances. 'All'.
Danny Ings (ST) - 7/10 - The partnership he's struck up with Adams is great to watch. They interchange brilliantly and work in telepathic tandem. Caused the Baggies all sorts of problems.
Nathan Redmond - 7/10
Shane Long - N/A
West Brom Player Ratings
5. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Sam Johnstone (GK) - 8/10 - Made a string of superb saves, particularly in the first half, that kept the Baggies in the game. Blimey, they needed him.
Dara O'Shea (RB) - 5/10 - Was given a rough ride by Djenepo. Could tell he doesn't favour right-back after getting himself in a tangle a few times.
Semi Ajayi (CB) - 6/10 - The most solid of the back four, he did well with deliveries into the box but struggled to play out from the back due to the Saints' constant pressing.
Kyle Bartley (CB) - 5/10 - He's a presence, but not much more. Stands tall for set-pieces, but isn't exactly the all round package.
Conor Townsend (LB) - 5/10 - With such diverse attacking play from the hosts, Townsend was one of the many players dragged out of position. Struggled up against Walker-Peters.
Jake Livermore (CM) - 5/10 - Overrun by the tireless Ward-Prowse and most mostly a bystander as the Saints carved through the midfield.
Matheus Pereira (AM) - 6/10 - Offered a few dangerous deliveries from set plays but was marked out of the game by Romeu. Was far livelier in the second period.
Romaine Sawyers (CM) - 6/10 - Upped his game in the second half when Bilic threw caution to the wind and kept the Baggies ticking over. Was replaced for more attacking intent.
Kyle Edwards (RW) - 4/10 - Couldn't get into the game whatsoever. Barely touched the ball and if he did it was wasn't intentional. Taken off at half time.
Callum Robinson (ST) - 4/10 - Ineffective leading the line. The few scraps he fed off he failed to gobble up. He.didn't make a meal out of them?
Grady Diangana (LW) - 6/10 - Came to life in the second period after an anonymous first 45. Getting him on the ball after the break brought West Brom, and him, far more joy. Is very dangerous with the ball at his feet. Without the ball, less so.
Sam Field - 6/10
Hal Robson-Kanu - 5/10
Filip Krovinović - 6/10
