Liverpool predicted lineup vs Brentford - Premier League

Liverpool travel to Brentford on Saturday afternoon for their first ever competitive outing at the newly-promoted side's new stadium.

The Bees have only lost four of their 33 matches at the Brentford Community Stadium, but Liverpool travel to west London undefeated across all competitions this season and seemingly back to their sparkling best.

Jurgen Klopp's side last suffered defeat in the Premier League all the way back in March, though that loss was inflicted by the previous campaign's Championship play-off winners. Here's how the Reds may lineup when they face the side who were promoted via that same route.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Alisson (GK) - Having saved 14 of the 15 Premier League shots he's faced, Alisson has started the campaign in top form.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) - It took a James Milner lecture to convince Liverpool's creative hub to sit out the last Premier League fixture. Having shaken off a non-COVID-related illness, no words will be necessary as he returns.

Joel Matip (CB) - After playing every minute of Liverpool's opening five fixtures, injury-prone Matip was given a much-needed rest ahead of an expected return this weekend.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) - Liverpool's 'Superman' - according to Milner - may be frustrated with his early-season rotation but, having been rested in midweek, should swoop back into the side.

Andy Robertson (LB) - Despite Kostas Tsimikas' emergence as a viable alternative to the Scotland international, Robertson remains the undisputed first choice.

2. Midfielders

Jordan Henderson (CM) - As one of a select, legendary list of individuals to have captained this illustrious club for as many as 200 matches, Henderson is set to continue climbing those standings for some time to come.

Fabinho (CM) - 'The Lighthouse' - as christened by Liverpool's assistant manager Pep Lijnders - has slotted back into his much preferred role at the base of midfield for the club's illuminating start to the campaign.

Naby Keita (CM) - With both Thiago and Harvey Elliott sidelined, the third spot in Liverpool's midfield is very much up for grabs. Three underwhelming years since joining the club, now is the latest in a slew of opportunities for Keita to make that position his own.

3. Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) - Just one goal shy of triple digits for Liverpool in the Premier League, Salah could reach that landmark figure by scoring at the 24th different stadium in his stunning career in the competition.

Diogo Jota (ST) - As one of the few players in Liverpool's squad to have ever played Brentford before, Jota can boast a goal from his two previous encounters with the Bees.

Sadio Mane (LW) - Liverpool's latest centurion was caught in the malaise that seeped throughout last season's squad but has returned to his scintillating best this campaign.
