Burnley's Charlie Taylor is being evaluated by Leicester City as a potential replacement for current left back Ben Chilwell, who has been heavily linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium this summer.

Chilwell's stock has dramatically risen this season, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham all rumoured to be sniffing around the 23-year-old, ahead of a big-money summer transfer.

The Times suggests that Leicester's scouting unit have identified Burnley left-back Taylor as one possible replacement, in the event that Chilwell is indeed sold.

26-year-old Taylor is enjoying his third consecutive season in the Premier League and has supposedly impressed scouts in recent weeks with his performances on the Clarets' left flank.

Starting his career at Leeds, York-born Taylor first enjoyed a full season of competitive football at Fleetwood Town in 2013/14. Such was his development with the Cod Army that Leeds promoted the youngster to the Leeds first team. After three seasons at Elland Road, Burnley moved to snap up the left-back in 2016.

He has been since been an important player in Sean Dyche's side, who - amazingly - sit only four points off fifth and potential Champions League place, impressing with their resiliency and tough-to-beat mentality.

Leicester's style of play relies on their wing backs to offer a lot of energy, a role that Chilwell and Ricardo Pereira currently relish.

Last month, 90min told you that another left back Leicester had been looking at is Arsenal star Kieran Tierney with Brendan Rodgers keen to reunite with the player he managed at Celtic.

The 22-year-old joined Arsenal last summer for around £25m but has since struggled with fitness issues.

It is thought that the Foxes will attempt to hold out for a club-record deal to sell Chilwell, with valuations as high as £100m previously touted.
