High-flying Leicester City host a Fulham side languishing at the other end of the Premier League table in the early kick off on Monday evening.

After painfully stumbling in the closing stages of the previous campaign, Brendan Rodgers' Foxes have enjoyed a superb start to the season both at home and on the continent. They've taken a more reactive approach, which is easier on the increasingly weary limbs in a schedule congested like no other.

Fulham's ambitions, on the other hand, revolve around survival. Scott Parker's second ever match as Fulham manager came at the King Power Stadium in March 2019, where Leicester eased to a 3-1 victory. Given the woeful start to the campaign Parker has overseen, a similar outcome may be in store for the Cottagers.

Leicester City managed to escape their Thursday trip to Braga with a point which secured qualification to the Europa League knockout stages and no new fitness concerns. The injured trio of Caglar Soyuncu, Wilfred Ndidi and Ricardo Pereira have returned to training but won't be available on Monday while Timothy Castagne and Daniel Amartey are also set to miss out.

Fulham can welcome back Aboubakar Kamara after serving his three-game ban for a red card against Crystal Palace while Kenny Tete is being eased back into training.

Fulham, meanwhile, have lost seven of their nine Premier League games this season, with their only victory coming against fellow promoted side West Bromwich Albion at the start of November.

No team in the division has conceded more than Fulham's 18 goals. Although, staggeringly, this abysmal average of two goals against per game is better than the defensive record Fulham have mustered in their last two Premier League campaigns (where they conceded 85 and 81 goals in 2013/14 and 2018/19 respectively).

Flying in the face of The Boomtown Rats, Fulham have won four of their last six Premier League matches on a Monday (according to the Premier League's official website), with their only victory of the current campaign also coming at the start of the working week.

In a similarly irrelevant quirk, Leicester's tenth league game of the previous campaign happened to be their historic 9-0 shellacking of Southampton. While the Foxes may not quite replicate that monumental scoreline in their tenth Premier League game of the season on Monday, the form, quality and managers of each club suggests the same result; namely, a win for Leicester.
