Jack Grealish says Man City will use European heartbreak as motivation in title race

Jack Grealish has insisted that Manchester City will use their Champions League semi-final heartbreak as motivation in the final few weeks of the Premier League season.

Despite taking a two-goal lead on four separate occasions in their semi-final clash with Real Madrid, City were knocked out of the competition by an added-time brace from Rodrygo and an extra-time penalty from Karim Benzema.

Speaking to the press ahead of Man City's return to Premier League action this weekend, Grealish stated that the Citizens will use this disappointment as fuel in the title race.

"100 percent. That is what we are here to do. That is why, in my opinion, we are the best team in the Premier League because we want to win stuff," he said.

“We put that pressure on ourselves to constantly win trophies and the club as a whole has done that over the last ten years especially. We have the Premier League to go and play for now. It is in our hands.

"We have four important games coming up and the game the other night certainly gives us more of an edge to go and do that."

The England international continued: “At City, one thing that I have realised is you have so many important games that come thick and fast. The pressure is good. I came here to try and lift trophies and have medals of my own.

“Once you play in the Premier League, then you think ‘imagine winning it one day’. For me, it would be a dream come true.”
