Inter Miami are set to rival Watford for the summer signing of Ashley Young if he decides to depart Inter.

The wing-back helped the Nerazzurri win their first Serie A title in over a decade this season but his deal is set to expire in the summer. It remains unclear whether Young will be handed another year, opening the door for a possible summer switch.

According to the Sun, Inter Miami would be interested in signing him if he does leave San Siro. The David Beckham backed franchise are assembling an impressive squad with Gonzalo Higuain, Blaise Matuidi and Ryan Shawcross signed up and West Brom's Kieran Gibbs set to join them at the end of the Premier League season.

However, Miami are not the only side interested in Young. Recently promoted Watford are keen as well. The move would see the wideman return to his boyhood club, something he revealed he was keen on back in October.

"If I could go back and play there [at Watford] again, I would walk from Italy right now," he said on the 'Golden Tales' podcast.

"Because it's what I know, it's where I come from and it's what allowed me to be who I am and get where I am. For me, at my age now, and you can ask my family, you can ask my agent, if I had the opportunity to go back and finish my career at Watford, I would jump at the chance."

Born in nearby Stevenage, Young joined the Hornets as a youth player and made his first team debut in 2003. During the 2005/06 season he scored 13 times as Watford gained promotion to the Premier League, impressing in the first half of the following campaign before getting snapped up by Aston Villa.
