Eintracht Frankfurt vs West Ham: TV channel, live stream, team news & prediction

03 May 2022 21:30

West Ham play the biggest match in their recent history on Thursday night, as they travel to Eintracht Frankfurt for the second leg of their Europa League semi-final.

David Moyes' side needs a mammoth result in Germany, having fallen to a 2-1 defeat in the first leg last week.

Anything can happen, however, with both teams entering the game in woeful domestic form. The hosts have gone six Bundesliga outings without victory, losing two of their previous three, while the Hammers have suffered defeat in their last two, losing consecutive London derbies.

Here's 90min's preview of this one.

Eintracht Frankfurt team news

The hosts will be handed a big boost as they welcome back Evan Ndicka and Kristijan Jakic who were both absent from the first leg through suspension.

Oliver Glasner, however, may opt against keeping both in the side after a disappointing showing at the weekend and could instead field a similar side that impressed in London last week.

West Ham team news

Craig Dawson will come back to the fold after having missed his side's defeat to Arsenal last time out through suspension, returning to action alongside some key players who were rested last time out such as Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek.

Issa Diop was fit enough to make the matchday squad at the weekend, although don't expect him to start here.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs West Ham score prediction

Last Thursday gave the neutrals a night to savour, and the second leg shouldn't be too different.

Both sides are really struggling for clean sheets at the moment and, with the onus on the Hammers to go for the game, we should see an open affair with quality attackers being handed plenty of opportunities.

There should be goals but, given what we saw in the first leg, Frankfurt might have just too much for West Ham to overturn the deficit.

Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-2 West Ham
