Donny van de Beek keen to stay at Man Utd this summer

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek is determined to fight for his place at Old Trafford this coming season, despite being linked with a transfer away.

A nominee for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, Van de Beek struggled to live up to expectations last season following a £40m transfer from Ajax. He started only four Premier League games and looked increasingly devoid of confidence with each passing week.

Van de Beek was ruled out of Euro 2020 with Netherlands earlier this summer as a result of injury and has now returned to training for United ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

90min revealed back in March that United were open to the idea of including Van de Beek in their offer to Borussia Dortmund for Jadon Sancho. That deal was eventually agreed for straight cash, but the 24-year-old has also been linked with other clubs across Europe.

The Manchester Evening News writes that there have been ‘tentative enquiries’ about Van de Beek from unnamed clubs in La Liga, Serie A and the Bundesliga, but the player himself sees his future at Old Trafford and wants to fight for his place.
