Aston Villa predicted lineup vs Leicester - Premier League

22 April 2022 16:00

Aston Villa will be looking to break a four-game losing streak when they travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester on Saturday.

The FA Cup semi-finals last weekend means it has been a fortnight since Villa were last in action, when they lost 4-0 to Tottenham.

In response to his side's poor form, Gerrard may be tempted to shuffle his pack. Here is the starting XI he seems most likely to go with...

Emiliano Martinez (GK) - Martinez seemed unbeatable at times last season. This time out he has registered a save percentage of just 64.6%.

Matty Cash (RB) -
Cash has barely missed a minute of Premier League action for Villa this term.

Ezri Konsa (CB) -
Kortney Hause's return from injury puts some pressure on Konsa but he should keep his place for now.

Tyrone Mings (CB) -
No one in the Villa squad has completed more passes in the Premier League this season. Three assists isn't bad either. It's more than John McGinn has managed.

Ashley Young (LB) -
With Lucas Digne out injured, grizzly veteran Young should return to the side.

Jacob Ramsey (CM) -
Ramsey loves to drive through midfield with the ball and no regular starter for Villa has averaged more progressive distance per 90 minutes this season.

Douglas Luiz (CM) -
The Brazilian is averaging well over four combined tackles and interceptions this campaign.

John McGinn (CM) -
A bundle of energy in midfield, he will be desperate to stay fit ahead of Scotland's vital World Cup qualification playoffs this summer.

Philippe Coutinho (RF) -
Started very strongly but has struggled to take games over in more recent times.

Ollie Watkins (ST) -
Danny Ings' struggles in front of goal mean Watkins will likely lead the line alone this time around.

Emiliano Buendia (LF) -
Leon Bailey will be pushing for a start but Buendia may narrowly get the nod.
