10 teams Tottenham could play in the 2021/22 Europa Conference League

Quietly sneaking in while everyone's eyes were firmly fixed on Euro 2020, the draw for the first qualifying round of the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League has been made.

Before you ask, no, Tottenham are not in it yet. At this stage the team's involved hail from the lowest ranking countries in the continent with Spurs joining the action in the third qualifying round.

That does not mean that it is too early for fans to start dreaming up some exotic away trips, though. Here are 10 such teams that Spurs could find themselves jetting off to this season.

1. Bohemians (Republic of Ireland)

La Fiorita breezed to top spot in the Campionato Sammarinese di Calcio last season, losing just one of their 14 games. Unfortunately, San Marino's top division has playoffs for the title - and they lost in the final to rivals Folgore.

Luckily, a domestic cup win meant they still progressed into the Conference League qualifiers. Getting into the competition proper will take a small miracle, though. Perhaps they will be able to use the prospect of hosting Harry Winks and co as motivation.

3. Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjardar (Iceland)

Commentators across the country will be hoping Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjardar do make it into the Conference League proper.

The Icelandic runners-up from the 2020 campaign count former Rangers man Steven Lennon and ex-Manchester City goalkeeper Gunner Nielsen among their ranks.

4. Puskas Akademia (Hungary)

Puskas Akademia started life as an academy team before mutating into something entirely different under guidance from autocratic Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban.

Orban used public funds to construct a £100m stadium for the club and their 'youth first' ethos is gone too. They finished second in the Hungarian OTP Bank Liga last season and will be quietly confident of reaching the competition proper.

5. Maribor (Slovenia)

"Hi, I'm Maribor. You may remember me from such Champions League humiliations as 7-0 to Liverpool 2017, and 6-0 to Chelsea 2014."

Their stock has fallen considerably since those heady days and losing out on the Slovenian title by a single goal means they have to content themselves with the Conference League this time around.

6. FC Noah (Armenia)

FC Noah were only founded back in 2017 and they boast the most no-nonsense badge in European football.

Why waste time paying some graphic design company to do it when you can just type your full name in Arial Black?

7. Europa FC (Gibraltar)

Europa are one of four Gibraltan teams that Tottenham could end up facing in the Conference League next season.

If they do make it, keep an eye out for Jack Breed who started his senior career at Gosport Borough - commonly regarded as the best football team on the planet.

8. Newtown (Wales)

Newtown's presence in the Conference League is thanks to the Cymru Premier's playoff system.

Despite finishing seventh out of 12 teams, losing more games than they won in the process, the Robins beat off competition from Barry Town, Caernarfon Town and Penybont to seal a place alongside Spurs in the Conference League.

9. Gzira United (Malta)
