Let's not forget it was the Sunday Sun that reported we were going to sign Miroslav Klose, Thierry Henry, David Beckham, John Terry and Luís Figo. And re-sign Tino Aspilla, Gazza, Luis Saha, Sylvain Distin and more recently Shay Given. Today they say the Smogs are "set to test Newcastle’s resolve to keep hold of rising star Nile Ranger. "Boro boss Gordon Strachan is looking to boost his firepower after Kris Boyd’s misfiring start to the season and Toon fringe man Ranger is on his radar. "Strachan reckons an injection of pace, which Ranger has in abundance, could be just the thing to kick-start their faltering promotion bid."
