Crouch And Carroll - Two Peas In A Pod?

Long term England are looking for a battering ram to provide Wayne Rooney with the amunition, and it looks like Andy Carroll could be going head-to-head with Peter Crouch for the shirt. Andy Carroll: “I was happy with my performance on the night and it obviously leaves you wanting to experience a bit more. “For me it was a great experience to be out there and playing with top international players. “I’ve really enjoyed it. “The atmosphere to play in front of 86,000 people was a real buzz and it’s something I’ll never forget. “Now I’m just looking forward to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. Peter Crouch: “I thought young Andy did really well. “He can be proud of his performance. “For me, he can go on and become an England player for years to come if he keeps learning and adapting the way he has. “He’s a big lad and a real competitor, and I think he has what it takes to play international football. “The manager was looking at other things and obviously knows what I can do. “I’ve been around the set-up for a while now. “Pleasing to make the impact; obviously just disappointed with the result. “I thought France in the first half played some great stuff, to be honest, and we had a little bit of a comeback at the end. “Maybe if the game had gone on a little bit more, we’d have had a different result.”
