Anderson could take on Owls
The Brazilian was absent from Saturday's 1-1 friendly draw with Manchester City with a hamstring injury and faces a scan on the injury.
Burton told the club's official website: "Anderson will go for a scan on Tuesday and we will know more after then.
"Hopefully it will come back clear and he will be able to train before Saturday. We will have to wait and see on that one."
Meanwhile, Burton revealed centre-back Darren Moore underwent a late fitness test before playing the whole game against Mark Hughes' men.
He added: "Darren came through the test before the game and managed to get through the 90 minutes as well. He was a little sore afterwards but there should be no problems at all ahead of this weekend's match at Hillsborough."
