Dzagoev played for Krylia Sovetov-SOK during the 2006-07 season.

He played 37 league games scoring six times, which earned him a move to the Russian Premier league.

Dzagoev signed for CSKA Moscow at the start of the 2008 season, he went on to play 20 league games and found the net an impressive 8 times from midfield. In total he scored 13 goals in 29 appearances during the campaign which won him best young player of the year. In October 2008, Real Madrid declared interest in the youngster but Dzagoev played down the move and declared he would only play abroad in the English Premier league.

Since his debut season, Dzagoev has been a vital part of the CSKA side and has gone on to play 102 times in the league netting 26 times. Dzagoev made his international debut in a qualifying match against Germany in 2008, making him the youngest outfield player to ever play for Russia.

Dzagoev faces tough competition for a place in Russia’s midfield but expect to see a series of strong performances from the youngster who may just earn himself a move to the English Premier league.
