An emotional night at Wembley, Manchester United were looking to win the final on home soil.

This was United's second final against Barcelona, and The Red Devils were seeking revenge.

Similarly to two years ago, United were outplayed by the Spanish Giants. Barcelona were victorious with 3 goals to 1, United had lost, again. In what proved to be a one-sided affair, Pedro gave the Catalan giants the advantage only for United talisman Wayne Rooney to draw his side level. In the second half however, Messi and Villa took centre stage, adding their names to the score-sheet in a stunning display of football from Barca.

A David Villa goal all but sealed Barcelona's victory, as he curled the ball into Van Der Sar's top right corner. A goal that would of even sent goosebumps down the spine of United fans. A trade-mark United comeback late into the final was not to be

This match will be rememberd however through one man. Eric Abidal had just recovered from life threatening liver cancer, and just three months later he went on to lift Football's Biggest Prize. Wearing the captains arm band and standing infront of 90,000 people at Wembley, Eric Abidal lifted the trophy high above his head, as Barca & himself both reigned supreme.

Key Player: David Villa

Although dominating the game, Barca only had a one goal lead, and in football, anything can happen. David Villa all but ended the hopes and dreams of United fans. He received the ball just outside the box and with his right boot, curled it into the top corner to seal the game for Barca. an extraordinary goal, a goal the Spanish striker will never forget.
