David Silva started playing football in the youth team of UD San Fernando, as a goalkeeper. Eventaully moving to the wing, he received an offer to become a youth player at Valencia FC.

He eventually got a big money move to Manchester City, playing in the trequartista role, and has shone ever since. In addition to winning his first Premier League medal with Manchester City last season, he also finished the season as top of the assists table with 17 to his name.

At EURO 2012 David Silva scored 2 goals and assisting 3 more – as well as scoring the first goal in the final.

For his performances – he was named the most efficient player at the tournament. David Silva has been part of the Spanish set up that has gone on to win three majour tournaments in a row, and having just signed a new long term deal at Manchester City, it appears that success is inevitable for Silva for years to come.
