Top 10 Midfielders of 2012: 7 - Shinji Kagawa
Before his summer move to Manchester United, Kagawa played for German Champions – Borussia Dortmund.
A goal scoring midfielder, Kagawa managed 25 goals in just 49 league games – even missing half of the 10/11 season. Kagawa won two bundesliga titles with Dortmund, as well as the DFB-Pokal cup, in which he scored and assisted a goal against rivals Bayern Munich.
A confident dribbler, as well as being an accomplished finisher – Kagawa has already scored for his new club, Manchester United, on his debut appearance.
His vision is perhaps his best asset. At Borussia Dortmund last season, Kagawa boasted an average of nearly two key passes per game. In the 11/12 season Kagawa scored 17 goals as well as laying on 10 assists.
He has become the first Japanese player to play for Manchester United, and will be a symbol to all fellow Asian players that anything is possible.
