The new Michael Laudrup

In the early stages of his career he had trials with Barcelona, AC Milan and Chelsea but he decided on a move to Ajax as he felt this was the best move for his development.

Eriksen really started to show his true potential in the 2010-11 season where he scored 6 league goals and 9 assists in 28 games. He was a pivotal member of the side that won the 2010-11 Eredivisie which was Ajax’s first title in seven years. He was named Ajax’s talent of the year along with Dutch football talent of the year.

Eriksen was key to Ajax’s success this season providing 7 league goals from midfield and an incredible 19 assists. Ajax also retained the title this season with a comfortable six point gap at the top.

Denmark are rank outsiders after being drawn in the group of death, expect Eriksen to have an impact if they are to cause an upset against Holland, Germany or Portugal.
