Annan Athletic 2-1 Montrose: Match Report

19 March 2011 19:09
Harty at the double in win Two goals from top scorer Ian Harty saw Annan secure an unlikely three points in a 2-1 win at home to Montrose. Montrose took the lead after 21 minutes when Paul Tosh rose to meet a Dougie Cameron free-kick inside the six-yard box and his header found the bottom corner. Annan equalised in the 47th minute when, against the run of play, Harty found the top corner with a rasping drive from the right-hand side of the box. Montrose upped the pressure in the second half, creating numberous chances and seeing the lion's share of the ball. Then, after 50 minutes, the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Alan Cambell saw red for a deliberate handball inside the box. Harty stepped up to coolly slot home his 13th goal of the season. Montrose had chances to equalise late on, but Annan dug in and made sure of the win.
