Sheffield United have agreed a deal with Manchester United to extend Dean Henderson's stay with the club to the end of the season.
The goalkeeper has spent the last two seasons on loan at Bramall Lane, but the current loan was due to expire on 30 June - which would have left the Blades a player short with seven league fixtures still to fulfil.
Henderson has excelled during his debut season in the top flight, becoming an integral part of the Sheffield United side who have emerged as surprise top four contenders.
The Blades are just two points behind Manchester United with a game in hand - leaving the Red Devils with the opportunity to dispossess a Champions League rival of a key player.
However, according to the Daily Mail, United have passed up on the opportunity for some prime shithousery and an agreement in principle has been reached between the two sides.
There are still some finer details to be ironed out, but the deal is expected to be completed by 23 June - the deadline for clubs to extend the stays of players whose contracts are up on 30 June.

Although Man Utd have been willing to allow Henderson to remain with the Blades, the new terms of the loan are likely to state that the 23-year-old cannot play against his parent club - with the two sides set to meet on 24 June in a potentially pivotal game in the race for the Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side currently sit three points behind fourth place Chelsea, while Sheffield United are five points behind but have a game in hand over the Blues.
However, fifth spot - which is currently occupied by the Red Devils - could still secure a Champions League place should Manchester City's European ban not be overturned.
City's appeal is being heard by the court of arbitration for sport, with an outcome expected in July.
