Jose Mourinho Reveals Harry Kane Is Injury Doubt for North London Derby

Jose Mourinho has revealed Harry Kane is an injury doubt for the north London derby against Arsenal on Sunday, though he did add he believes the Tottenham striker will play.

Kane has been one of the Premier League's best players so far this season, registering a division high of nine assists while scoring a further seven goals. His partnership with Son Heung-min has also been one of the stories of the campaign.

However, the England captain was not pictured in training on Wednesday morning and speculation over his fitness started to do the rounds on social media.

Speaking ahead of the Europa League fixture against LASK on Thursday, Mourinho revealed Kane, alongside Sergio Reguilon, Carlos Vinicius and Erik Lamela, is a doubt for Sunday's fixture.

He said: "All injured. Lamela is an injury from three weeks, a month. I don't believe he has a chance for the weekend. Harry, Vinicius and Sergio there is a chance for the weekend."

Regarding Kane, Mourinho added: "I'm not going to tell you the nature of his injury. I think he has a good chance. I don't want to lie, I don't want to hide anything in relation to 'is he going to play or no?' I think he's going to play. That's my feeling, that he's going to play."

While that news may rock the Spurs fanbase, there is a better prognosis on centre back Toby Alderweireld.

The Belgian picked up an adductor problem in the late stages of the 2-0 victory over Manchester City in late November and has been missing ever since.

Mourinho added: "Yeah, he has a chance [for the weekend]. Not for tomorrow [Thursday]. Joe played against Chelsea and it wasn't an easy first match to play. Davinson will play tomorrow. We have our options if he cannot play and we will not cry if he can't like against Chelsea."
