Misun hoping for Hoops chance

Czech defender Milan Misun is determined to make the breakthrough at Celtic this season after impressing during pre-season. Misun was included in Neil Lennon's squad for the Hoops' trip to America and has started two of their three games so far.The centre-half hopes his recent success is a sign of things to come, having struggled to make an impact at Parkhead since his arrival in January 2009.Injuries have hampered his cause during that time, but Misun believes he is now ready to make his mark at the SPL giants."I was thinking that if they have taken me to the States, they might be counting on my services," he told chovanecsport.cz."I only hope that things will not take the same path as in last season. Then I travelled with the team to a pre-season camp in Australia and ruptured my knee ligament. I had to start from the scratch. Hopefully, it will be better this time." The 20-year-old accepts that there is plenty of competition for places at the heart of Lennon's defence this season, but sees no reason why he cannot become a mainstay in the starting XI.He added: "I think everyone in the team has the same chance to get into the starting XI. "In the position of centre-back, where they want me to play, there are five of us. The Dutch pair (Glenn) Loovens and (Jos) Hooiveld, then two lads of about my age - Norwegian (Thomas) Rogne and Englishman (Josh) Thompson. But he did not make it into the squad playing in the States. "My priority is to impress, to get myself into the first team, to play and show my potential."
