Cottagers fit the bill - Sanchez

awrie Sanchez says Fulham would provide the perfect opportunity for Martin Jol to prove his worth again in the Premier League. Jol managed Tottenham from 2004-2007 and would have guided the club to a top-four finish bar a final-day collapse away to West Ham in 2006. The Ajax manager was sacked after a bad start to the 2007/08 season, but Sanchez believes that with Fulham's current interest in him, Jol is in a win-win situation.Sanchez told Sky Sports News: "You look at his record at Spurs and he did reasonably well there before they undermined him, seeing Juande Ramos two games into the new season. "For him, it'd be a fantastic return to the Premier League, because I'm sure he'd like to prove to Tottenham that he's a good manager. "For Fulham, they're essentially a little bit hamstrung now, because it's become so public that if they don't land him, they'll have egg all over their face. Jol is in a win-win situation at the moment."Fulham are looking for a new manager after Roy Hodgeson left the club to join Liverpool. However, Sanchez believes that Fulham have the credentials to attract a big name such as Jol. He said: "Obviously getting to the Europa League final was fantastic but they only finished 13th in the league so let's not get carried away as the previous season they finished 7th. "But it's a fantastic Premier League club, it's a traditional club, fantastic stadium, good support with an owner that's one of the richest in the country and a fantastic training ground. There would be a lot of managers, Martin Jol included, who would take that job without hesitating."Sanchez spoke about his complicated relationship with owner Mohammed Al-Fayed and says that if Martin Jol were to become the Cottagers' new boss, the relationship between owner and manager would have to be a lot closer. He added: "It's strange, when I was Fulham manager I only had one meeting with him one-to-one. "The relationship between the manager and the owner is the most important thing and I found that there were other layers that got in the way of our relationship. So, I don't really know what it's like to work with him as we were never really allowed to get into that situation. "But I heard that Roy (Hodgeson) did have a close relationship with him and whoever comes in now needs to carry on that relationship."
