Fergie Jnr Slaps £20m Tag On Lonergan

After reporting that a third bid for Andy Lonergan from West Brom was rejected yesterday evening it seems manager Darren Ferguson has firmly stated "hands off" to any suitors. Lonergan has been linked with moves to Blackpool, Burnley and West Brom with the latter being the only club to make a firm approach with three bids rejected. Ferguson has warned any potential interested parties that Preston would only sell the keeper for £20 million. Although this is a little tongue in cheek with rumours suggesting a bid in the region of £2.5 million would see Lonergan leave, Ferguson is clearly determined to ward off other clubs with such a high valuation and further it shows that Preston will only sell if the price is right.
