Pulis delighted by Nash return

Stoke boss Tony Pulis has stressed the importance of having three senior goalkeepers as Carlo Nash prepares to sign a one-year contract. Pulis has been on the lookout for a reserve stopper after allowing Steve Simonsen to join Sheffield United and Nash was an obvious choice following his release by Everton. The 36-year-old played 10 times in Stoke's promotion season from the Championship in 2007/08 and is more than happy to act as a number three having done the same for the Toffees, for whom he played just once.Nash has now joined up with the Potters' squad in Austria but Pulis insists his arrival should not fool clubs that Thomas Sorensen could be available this summer. He told the club's official website: "I've said all along we need three goalkeepers, and three goalkeepers is what we now have."Thomas is very much one of those three as far as I'm concerned because of the quality and experience he gives us - and has given us for the past two years."Pulis added of Nash: "Carlo knows us and we know him. He is a top goalkeeper who did a fantastic job for us during our promotion season."He was out of contract at Everton, and he is at that age where he is happy to be third choice. I know if he is called upon he will do a fantastic job."He has a great attitude and I am delighted he is here with us."
