Fulop shocked by showing

Sunderland goalkeeper Marton Fulop has admitted he was shocked by his side's sorry performance against West Bromwich Albion. The Black Cats suffered a 3-0 defeat to the bottom-of-the-table Baggies at The Hawthorns on Saturday.Ricky Sbragia's men now sit 16th in the Premier League, just four points above safety with four games of the season remaining. And Fulop is aware that Sunderland cannot afford a repeat display if they are to preserve their top-flight status. The Hungarian said: "I really struggle to understand the performance. Our fans down there were obviously not happy, and I cannot blame them for telling us.Surprised"I think West Brom will be relegated and there was nothing for them to fight for, but they seemed to want the win more than us and I am surprised by that."It was a very bad day and we are not safe yet, so we cannot have many more performances like that before the end of the season."I am confident we will stay in the Premier League because we are capable of so much better, and we have to go and show that."There was something lacking from our performance from the very start, and I don't think we really got going at any stage."
