Gers skipper could finish with final

The centre-half has made over 600 appearances for Falkirk, Hearts, Everton and the Gers but despite his fitness levels still being high, the demands of top-flight football are taking their toll.Weir, soon to be 39, is out of contract in the summer and is considering hanging up his boots after the May 30 showpiece against Falkirk."Hopefully, I will be captain, and of course, it could be my final game for Rangers," admitted Weir to the Daily Record "It will be a proud day if I get to lead the team out for the final because being involved in finals is one of the reasons that you want to play football."The memories from days like that are something that you will look have forever and be able to look back on once your career is finished."Weir is reluctant to give a definitive answer as to when he will retire, which shows the centre-half is seriously contemplating staying on another season. He said: "It could be the final game for Rangers for anyone who plays that day because you never know what's going to happen. "I won't be making any decisions on my future until the season is over and then I will sit down and think about it during the summer." Scottish Cup 2008/09 Win Outright: Rangers 1/7
