Quakers land Hatch

Darlington have today completed the signing of striker Liam Hatch. The Peterborough United forward returns to The Northern Echo Arena on a six-month loan with the fans' favourite having turned down offers from several clubs to join Quakers. The 28-year-old made a favourable impression on Darlington supporters when on loan in the 2008-09 campaign when he scored nine goals in 26 league appearances. Manager Mark Cooper, who last week brought in Michael Brough, is delighted with the Hatch's arrival. "It was important to get the ball rolling with a few signings and I think the supporters know he's the right kind of player that we need. "The supporters know what Liam's about and I'm sure they'll be looking forward to seeing him play. "He had one or two offers from other clubs in the Conference but felt it would be the right thing to do to come up here and play for Darlington." Hatch is likely to make an appearance in Saturday's home friendly against Sunderland. **See more on this story in Thursday's The Northern Echo.
