Jenas - Pressure got to Webb

Jermaine Jenas has accused referee Howard Webb of 'crumbling under the pressure' after his dubious penalty decision at Old Trafford. The Tottenham midfielder was left baffled when the official pointed to the spot after Michael Carrick went down under the challenge of Spurs goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes. The decision left the North Londoners fuming after it was clear that the Brazilian stopper got a hand to the ball. With the score at 2-0 the decision effectively changed the game, even though the champions were starting to dominate proceedings, and Spurs found themselves on the end of a second-half mauling with United running out 5-2 winners."That was a prime example of a referee crumbling over the pressure at Old Trafford," he told the Daily Mirror.Game changing"I don't want to make excuses and we went on to concede another four after that, which were sloppy goals, but it would have been a completely different game had they not got that first goal."It's just the way football is sometimes and pressure gets to people. The atmosphere, the occasion, the importance of the match, a lot of factors take their toll when making decisions."One thing that struck me about it was that he didn't even think."It was like he'd already made his mind up when he came out for the second-half that he was going to give something."
