Gareth Southgate believed Middlesbrough did not deserve to get anything out of the game after losing 2-0 to Arsenal. Southgate's side lost at the Emirates after Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas netted in either half. But his first goal should have been disallowed as replays showed Nicklas Bendtner strayed into an offside position and was also in the line of keeper Brad Jones.Boro were also denied a penalty appeal for a handball against Bendtner to make it a day to forget for Southgate. He told Sky Sports: "We didn't do enough to get anything from the game, there's no question.Score first"You probably need to score first to get a result here I think and we weren't able to do that and once they'd scored it was fairly comfortable for them."We've had one or two decent chances, in the first half we kept our shape well but once you are behind and chasing the game it is a very difficult place to play."Asked about the first goal, Southgate said: "The off-side, he's clearly standing in front of the goalkeeper so that one hasn't gone for us", while he had not seen a replay of the Boro penalty shout. The Boro boss believed 'one or two heads' had gone down when his side went two goals behind, which disappointed him."But generally the lads kept going," he said, picking out Robert Huth and Tuncay for particular praise.Positive resultSouthgate is now looking tfor a positive result in the next game against Manchester United at the Riverside."Its about what we do from here on in now - we have got a massive game at home next week and we've got our fans behind us there and it's a more realistic chance of getting something," he believed."But we're capable, we've done it in the past - we've said we've got to pick some big results up."Results went for us yesterday so were still in with a chance but we realise that we've got it all to do."
