Survival may not save Sbragia

Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia fears he could be sacked at the end of the season - even if he keeps the Black Cats up. Sbragia replaced Roy Keane in December and was initially reluctant to take up the post. However, the former Manchester United coach has grown into the role and has drawn up a list of transfer targets with chairman Niall Quinn for the summer.Quinn has given Sbragia his full support but openly admits the club will review the Scot's position in June, when they may be pressured into employing a more household name. This speculation has led to Sbragia being uncertain as to whether survival alone would keep him his job."I want to keep Sunderland up," Sbragia told The Guardian."Whether that is good enough for the people upstairs is another thing.Uncertain future"I can't talk or think about what they're thinking. But I have put my all into the club and I enjoy the job."The Black Cats face a tough challenge on Saturday as they travel to West Brom, who have admitted they must win the fixture to have any chance of avoiding relegation."Staying up for a second season in the Premier League is a big deal, it's difficult; this is one of the toughest leagues in the world," admitted Sbragia."The first four years after promotion to the Premier League are difficult. You have to chop and change your squad around and bring in better players,"There are bad times when you lose a few games and it's not pleasant. You just hope the people upstairs want to stay with you. It's as simple as that. "It's one or the other."
