Clarets chasing keeper Forster

urnley are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Newcastle goalkeeper Fraser Forster, according to reports. Clarets boss Brian Laws has been chasing a new goalkeeper all summer and he is now thought to have switched his attentions to Forster.The 22-year-old is highly-regarded at St James' Park, but he has found his way into the Newcastle first-team blocked by Steve Harper and Tim Krul.Forster enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Norwich last season helping them win the League One title after keeping 21 clean sheets in 42 games.Norwich were keen on bringing Forster back to Carrow Road before they finally ended up signing John Ruddy from Everton.The move has left the road clear for Burnley to bring Forster to Turf Moor and Laws is thought to be in talks with Newcastle about a season-long loan deal.Burnley are believed to be waiting for the green light from Newcastle to seal the deal with Laws admitting recently he was close to bringing a new signing to the club.
