McCoist favouring talks with EPL

But the former Ibrox star fears there would be too much opposition from clubs south of the border.Bolton chairman Phil Gartside wants to see the introduction of a two-tier Premier League of 18 teams each, which would include Rangers and Celtic. His proposal was not discussed when chairmen from England's top-flight met in London on Thursday but is expected to be on the agenda at the league's Annual General Meeting in June.McCoist said: "I don't know an awful lot about it but certainly the concept looks interesting. It's worth talking about."But I would have to be honest and say there would probably be more negative reaction from down south than there would be positive."Some of the clubs down there might not like to see us come in and take their place."It's very early days in the proceedings but it's something that would interest you, to play against teams like that."The money aspect of things would also be very important."McCoist would like to see a scenario whereby Rangers were included in a Premier League II but also had a team still competing in the SPL.He said: "We haven't spoken about it at great length but my opinion is that would be ideal."I would hate us to lose the identity totally with the Scottish league and Scottish football. But that's just my opinion." Rangers 3/10, Draw 4/1, St Mirren 10/1
