Spurs striker Robbie Keane denied Celtic return

Fans' favourite: Keane was a hit with CelticCeltic's hopes of re-signing Robbie Keane have been dashed after Harry Redknapp admitted he wants the striker to kick-start his career at Tottenham. Spurs striker Keane set the SPL alight when he joined Celtic on loan in January and after 16 goals in 19 games, the Hoops were desperate to have him back. New Parkhead assistant manager Johan Mjallby was hoping they could secue a similar short-term deal while Aston Villa and Birmingham were also keeping tabs on the situation. But White Hart Lane boss Redknapp said: 'I wouldn't think that (a loan deal) is a possibility because we paid good money for him and to loan him out again, it wouldn't be a goer. 'If Robbie's not happywhen the season starts and he's not playing then we'll sit down and discuss it. 'And if he wants to move, someone will have to buy him, but I'm hoping he comes back into the team and makes a real impact.'   Tottenham reveal new £20m shirt sponsors in league and cup split dealWright-Phillips in transfer tussle between Spurs, Liverpool and ArsenalCeltic close in on midfield duo Joe Ledley and Jimmy BullardSol up in air: Celtic target Campbell has talks with Sunderland CELTIC FC
