Baines hails Toffees

Leighton Baines hailed Everton's performance as the Toffees held Chelsea to a goalless stalemate at Stamford Bridge. The Toffees created plenty of chances in a game which was a dress rehearsal for next month's FA Cup final, with Baines having a good penalty shout turned down after appearing to be caught by Alex.Baines believes this draw, coupled with the victory over Manchester United on Sunday, gives Everton every confidence for the cup final. He told Sky Sports: "I think we pushed Chelsea really close tonight."We knew it would be tough after the weekend, but I thought our work rate was really good."The result is good confidence wise, but the final will be a different game."It does give us a confidence boost ahead of that game and we know that we can play against these sorts of sides."Speaking about the penalty shout, he added: "I think I was clipped, but the ball was out of my control so I can understand that it wasn't awarded."We did create a few chances. We looked to hit them on the counter and we did that well."
