Jagielka dismissed Rafa jibe

Phil Jagielka insists that the Everton players were not concerned when Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez labelled them a small club. The Spaniard's conduct was called into question last week when Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce claimed that the Reds boss made 'disrespectful' gestures during the recent clash between the two sides.Manchester United chief Sir Alex Ferguson joined in on the attack and labelled Benitez 'arrogant'.The former Valencia boss also caused a stir when he labelled the Toffees a small club back in early 2007 but Jagielka insists that the statement would be most hurtful to Everton supporters. "Not so much us," he told Sky Sport News. "It would make the fans angry more than anything and want to support us more."People can call us what they want. We know what we are, we're a good honest bunch of lads and we've obviously got a bit of ability in there. "It's been proven where we finish in the league but first and foremost we work hard for each other and see where that takes us and at the moment for a small club, so to speak, we're not doing too bad."
