Simpson tips Sam to shine

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson has predicted a bright future at the club for new midfield recruit Sam Wedgbury. The youngster this week agreed a one-year deal after he was released by Sheffield United at the end of last season. Wedgbury has spent much of the past two seasons on loan at Hungarian side Ferencvaros, who are the Blades` sister club. Simpson said: "We have seen him for Sheffield United and have had a lot of reports on him. He'll be a good signing for us. "I've heard nothing but good things about the lad. He's got a lot of energy, gets around the pitch and is very enthusiastic. "He's the right age and he's in our price bracket, which is excellent as he was playing top-flight football in Hungary last season."
