Hoops hoping to hijack Ledley deal

Celtic are reportedly hoping to hijack Stoke's bid to sign Cardiff playmaker Joe Ledley by offering him a bigger pay packet than the Potters. Tony Pulis has been a long-time admirer of the classy midfielder, who is believed to have held talks with the Stoke chief at the Britannia Stadium and been offered a £20,000-a-week package in the Potteries. It appears the 23-year-old is biding his time over a summer move, though, with SPL giants Celtic now holding the upper hand as they're prepared to offer better terms and a straight cash deal, whereas Stoke's offer is believed to involve Michael Tonge plus cash.Bhoys boss Neil Lennon is also keen to lure Potters wideman Liam Lawrence to Parkhead this summer. But Pulis is happy to play the waiting game for now, saying: "We are aware of who is and who isn't available, but agents and players are still dipping their toes in the water and not committing themselves just yet."That will change as time goes on. It's just a case of everyone being patient and then hoping we can get who we want when people start making firm decisions," he added in the Sentinel.West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo has also been credited with an interest in Wales international Ledley, but the Baggies are seemingly an outside bet to secure his signature.
