Ballack aiming for second spot

Michael Ballack has revealed that Chelsea are not targeting the Premier League title as they chase UEFA Champions League and FA Cup glory. Ahead of Wednesday's practice run for the cup final against Everton, Blues boss Guus Hiddink has indicated that his third-placed side can win the league before his short-term tenure concludes at the end of the season. However, midfielder Ballack, whose form has benefited from the February arrival of Hiddink, has indicated that Chelsea would be happy to finish in a runners-up spot. The Blues are preparing for a semi-final meeting with Barcelona in the Champions League, a competition held in high regard by club owner Roman Abramovich, and Ballack has hinted that continental and cup success are the priorities. "We will try everything, we have to win our games and second place is what we're trying for," the Germany captain said in the Evening Standard."Maybe we can win one or two trophies. If you look at the last few games, we've played good and come back from difficult situations, which has given us a lot of confidence. "We have showed that we are focused on the League until the end. We know it's important to get on top. The other two teams have been a little lucky but that's what you need."
